On your side mentoring
WorkingRite is an employability charity for young people (16-24) with mentoring at its heart and ‘On Your Side’ Mentoring is a relatively new development for us. The aim of the programme is to provide on-going support for our young people as they negotiate their route towards a thriving adulthood, through matching them up with adult mentors for a minimum of one year.
After a successful pilot programme in Glasgow and East Ayrshire, the intention is to now roll this innovative new programme out across Scotland over the next 3 years .
Become a Volunteer Mentor
We will be recruiting new volunteer mentors in the near future. If you are interested in joining the team, please keep an eye on our social media pages for updates or email Nikki to be added to the waiting list.
What skills or experience do you need?
No previous experience of mentoring is needed as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Our young people have worked hard to get to this stage. Could you make a real difference by being there for them and providing ongoing support as they transition from a work placement into employment and beyond?
If you are a good listener and can commit to building a relationship with a young person and acting as a positive, consistent role model we’d love to hear from you.
Time Commitment
You will meet for approximately 1 hour every 2 weeks for up to a year with breaks for holidays. Your meetings will be face-to-face.
