WorkingRite At A Glance
WorkingRite is a multi-award winning Scottish charity transforming the lives of young people (16-24) who can’t find a route into work.
Each year we help between 250 & 300 young people into jobs in Glasgow, Edinburgh/Lothians, Aberdeen city/shire, Argyll and East Ayrshire.
We target those young people who fall through the cracks in the system. Work is the key for them to realise their worth and potential and see a future of promise. Their dream is a job, a career and a future. We make this happen.
Our programme carefully matches each trainee with a local business or trade that interests them. They work and learn alongside a work-based mentor who nurtures their strengths and addresses their weaknesses.
The result is that 80% of our trainees who complete our programme and their work placement achieve a sustained job or apprenticeship.
In 2018 WorkingRite celebrated its 10th birthday. Following an earlier pilot WorkingRite was formed as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2008 and converted to a charity in 2011.
WorkingRite’s roots are in Leith, which is where the first pilot took place. Our Head Office is now in Glasgow, and we have recently moved into a new office right where it all began in Leith.
