Sometimes your Project Coordinator won’t be able to answer the phone when they are not at work. At other times you might need to speak to someone more specialised. Below is a list of organisations and helplines who can give you the help you need at any time.

Samaritans – Telephone: 116 123
24 hour helpline

Samaritans is a free suicide prevention helpline if you are struggling and finding it difficult to cope. Samaritans is on hand to help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. via their free telephone number, webchat on their website, by email, and by letter. They also offer a self-help app, that allows you to track your day-to-day emotions, and provides advice on various coping techniques.

24 hour helpline

Childline is there to help anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through. You can talk about anything. Whether it’s something big or small, our trained counsellors are here to support you. Childline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So you can talk to us any time. But we might not be able to talk for as long when it’s after midnight.

Breathing Space – Telephone: 0800 83 85 87

Breathing Space is a free confidential phoneline for individuals 16 and over, who are feeling down, anxious or depressed. No what matter what the issue is, Breathing Space are there to listen. Phonelines are open: Monday-Thursday 6pm to 2am, Weekend: Friday 6pm-Monday 6am
If English is not your first (or preferred) language, you can still contact Breathing Space via the free and confidential interpretation service, Language Line. To use this service, contact Breathing Space, and tell the phone adviser your preferred language and they will direct you.
