BECOME A VOLUNTEER

We are a small charity and, like many, rely on volunteers for many aspects of our programme. There are opportunities to help in several ways – which require short or longer periods of time, can be ongoing or one off.

Become a volunteer mentor – and support a young person who has completed the programme through volunteer support for up to a year. We ask for a commitment of up to one year, meeting or speaking to the young person you are matched with once or twice a month. We are currently training new volunteer mentors and are not recruiting new people at the moment. If you are interested in joining the team at a later date, just keep an eye on our social media pages for updates or email Nikki to be added to the waiting list.

Become a work placement provider – we rely on local businesses to provide mentored work placements for our young people. A placement for one young person normally lasts between 12-16 weeks.

Become a trustee – if you are passionate about young people and want to make a difference. Trustees meet once a quarter, with specialist sub group meetings in between. A term is usually up to 4 years. speaking to the young person you are matched with once or twice a month.

There are other opportunities for voluntary support including: offering training sessions to small groups of young people during their induction programme, providing admin support as needed, hosting a workplace visit for young people wanting to find out what jobs are needed in bigger companies. If you want more information, or have other ideas you’d like to offer, please email us here or call on 0141 737 2869.
