Leith Pioneers

The Leith Pioneers project is being delivered in partnership with the Cyrenians, through three secondary schools in north east Edinburgh by Jessie D’Cunha.

“I am dedicated to supporting young people in their transition into adulthood. Young people need to be provided with the tools to develop both social and employability skills in order to become confident and motivated employees – the WorkingRite programme does this. I am passionate about supporting our next generation, and enjoy having a positive influence on young people by motivating them – and having a fun sense of humour!”

The project is aimed at helping young people (aged 15-18), who have stopped attending school regularly. Targeting three schools initially – Leith Academy, Trinity Academy and Drummond Community High School it will engage those young people with poor attendance looking for a new approach.

For more information about getting involved in the Leith Pioneers project contact Jessie or call her on 07388 990175.

The project is funded for three years through BBC Children in Need, Employability Third Party Grant, The Robertson Trust and St James Place Partnership Foundation.
